Where it began..

Inspired by our love to sew, Ma & Me Designs was created after Ma (my mum) and Me (Kellie South) began to sew and crochet goodies to spoil the newest addition to our family with, Ma’s first grandchild and my Niece.

Ma and I have always dabbled in sewing and other creative pursuits, however, I wanted a space to create and share with you an ever-changing Kaleidoscope of items. Ranging from babies and children’s wear and accessories to homewares, quilts and lots of other patchwork and sewing pursuits. Along the way, I hope to show the world that sewing is no longer old-fashioned or unstylish, but rather contemporary and chic, with a place in the modern home or nursery.

Ma and I currently sell a range of bespoke curated goods for family and home at local markets. Including baby and children’s clothing and accessories. Our products are all about making beautiful modern designed pieces with a vintage twist to spoil your loved ones (or yourself) with.

I live in Kentucky, NSW with my husband, Andrew and two small kids. When I’m not sewing, you can find me somewhere on our small farm in the New England high country, enjoying all the facets country life has to offer.

Hi I’m Kellie, Wife, mum and maker.

I am passionate about sewing and creating and hope to inspire others as well. I love to design fun & modern, sewing patterns that you can tailor to your own personal taste, whatever it may be.

I want to help you achieve your creative dreams by teaching you skills to start your sewing journey or to build on skills that you already have so you can enjoy the making process and sew with confidence. Either way I hope to inspire you to pick up a needle and thread and get creating.

All my patterns are beginner friendly and easy to follow with step-by-step instructions. Plus full colour photographs at every step to help guide you along the way. Sweet and Whimsical makes, that can be either treasured or gifted and you will love sewing over and over again.
