Where It Began…

Inspired by our love to sew, Ma & Me Designs was created after Ma (my mum) and Me (Kellie South) began to sew and crochet goodies to spoil the newest addition to our family with, Ma’s first grandchild and my Niece.

Ma and I began selling a range of bespoke curated goods for babies, children and the home at local markets. we wanted to share our love for making beautiful modern designed pieces with a vintage twist to spoil your loved ones with – heartfelt makes that were as functional as they were lovely.

Ma and I have always dabbled in sewing and other creative pursuits, but I dreamed of a space to grow and share even more — a colourful patchwork of ideas and inspiration. From babywear and homewares to quilts, bags, and pouches, I wanted to show that handmade is anything but outdated. Sewing is contemporary, stylish, and full of personality — and it belongs in every modern home or nursery.

Hi I’m Kellie, wife, mum and maker.

I live in Kentucky, NSW with my husband and our two children. When I’m not sewing & collecting hoards of fabric, you can find me somewhere on our small farm in the New England high country, enjoying all the facets country life has to offer.

I am passionate about sewing and creating and hope to inspire others as well. I love scrappy quilting and small patchwork projects. Bags and pouches are my jam. I love to design fun, modern and sweet sewing patterns, that you can tailor to your own personal taste, whatever it may be.

I’m especially passionate about small-scale patchwork projects — think scrappy piecing and simple quilting, stitched into practical bags and pouches you’ll actually use every day. Whether you’re just starting out or sewing for years, my patterns are made to be flexible, fun, and easy to personalise with your own style and fabric stash.

All of my patterns are beginner-friendly and easy to follow, with step-by-step instructions and full-colour photos to guide you along the way. They’re designed to be sewn again and again — whether you’re making something to treasure for yourself or to gift with love.
