Bunny Bib Pattern

One thing that has always inspired me to sew is little ones. Whether it’s for family and friends or my own little one, there’s something super special about hand made for babies.

One thing I love making little people are bibs. They are such a fun little make, super quick and the possibilities are endless. There is just so much patchwork and variety you can fit into one little bib and they will always be used and adored. After all they are an everyday essential in mum and baby’s life, so it only makes sense that they be fun and adorable too.

My inspiration for this bunny bib came from another bib my son has. It is a bear bib that was brought from a chain store and of course mass produced. It has cute little ears that stick out the sides a little bear snout. I was feeding him one day and I looked at the bib and thought to myself, I can definitely make something 5 x cuter and way more special.  I’m not sure why i hadn’t thought of this sooner, so off I went and whipped up a pattern for my own little bear bib with cute round ears and a smiling face. But more about the bear bib another time and I may even do a pattern for it too. Being close to Easter of course I had to make a bunny bib, after all it’s the time of the year when we think most about bunnies. This bunny bib is of course suitable for all year round. I know my little man will be wearing his long after Easter is gone.

When I was making this bib I knew I wanted cute bunny ears that suck out from the bib. Not just a flat appliqué. I feel this adds to the cute factor and makes the bib so much more interesting. I did these in linen because I’m just loving lots of linen lately. This bib would also look adorable if you used patterned fabric for the ears and cheeks, and linen for the main bib front. I really love how colours pop when the are paired with linen.

If you want to make a bunny bib too, head on over to Etsy. It’s a digital PDF pattern so you can download it immediately and start sewing right away!
