Tiny Hexies & A Sweet Pouch

After telling myself I’d never sew with hexies (EPP Hexagons) so small, I found myself diving into the world of ½” hexies a couple of weeks ago and let’s just say I love them.

I’ve been inspired to use my overflowing basket of fabric scraps and when I say fabric scraps, I mean even those tiny little bits that seem like they belong in the bin. So be prepared for several sweet scrappy makes that will be coming soon. I managed to get some sweet fussy cuts too. One of the advantages of such a small shape I guess. You can fussy cut those tiny characters that are too small for piecing. I think the pink apple and the apron are my favourites, but there all so sweet it’s hard to choose.

I can’t wait to add these new additions to the panel I’ve started. The only problem is I’m not sure what they are going to become yet. Any ideas?

I also love drawstring pouches and made a small round one to keep my tiny hexies in while they are waiting to be pieced. Any excuse to make a drawstring pouch, they are so addictive. I love the contrast of the swiss dot with the pink Atsuko Matsuyama floral fabric and that sweet yellow gingham. Oh how I Love Gingham.

Who else loves tiny hexies? And what have you made with them?

Until next time, Happy sewing, Kellie. X.
