Every year over on Instagram Amber Leigh hosts a sew-a-long/swap called the Strawberry Lovers Party, because who doesn’t want to celebrate everything about those sweet little red fruits. I’m not sure what it is about us sewing nuts but we seem to go mad about the berries.
This year I made a couple of strawberry themed goodies, including this strawberry themed needlebook using the Itty Bitty Needlebook pattern from my shop. I just love the slim line and small design of this needle book. It’s quick and easy to whip up and can be customised in so many ways.

I love the combination of red and aqua and would love to use them more in my patchwork, so this Needlebook was the perfect opportunity. I had to go all out with the strawberry theme of course and the Pam Kitty Strawberry fabric was perfect for the lining of the needlebook. I also added a sweet little red strawberry button because why not.

My second make was a strawberry coin purse, which i’m currently working on a pattern for. And last but not least I had to have a go at making my own strawberry quilt block. I absolutely love the finished shape of the berry and had a lot of fun trying to make it as scrappy as possible. Those tiny squares are only 1″ when finished, so don’t look too close, there are plenty of mistakes.

I’m thinking about writing a quilt block pattern for this strawberry block, but I think i’ll be using much larger squares instead… Who would be interested? or maybe even making it baby quilt sized.
I’ll leave you with a sneak peak of a fun new tutorial I have coming soon to the blog, so stay tuned.

Until next time, happy sewing, Kellie. x
