Welcome to 2021 here at Ma & Me Designs. I’m a little excited about the year ahead, and I have plenty of new and fresh ideas I hope can make their way into patterns to share with you.

Starting with my newest pattern the ‘Itty Bitty Needlebook’. This little pattern came to me as I needed a very small needlebook that was slim line and didn’t take up too much space. I wanted it to be able to easily fit into my small sewing case and fit into my small EPP sewing tin without taking up much space. It only needed to hold a few needles and so the Itty Bitty Needlebook was born. It’s only a whopping 2 ¾” wide buy 3” high when closed, and of course I had to cram as much cuteness into that small size that would allow.

Scrap busting projects are always one of my favourites and a great way to use those precious scraps that you can’t possibly part with. Mind you, not all the fabrics you see here are scraps, I just raided my stash for some of my favourite prints I thought would make adorable little needlebooks. I then wanted to include some sweet trims and cotton tape, so I topped the felt with a line of crochet lace and added a tiny cotton twill tape tag to the side. Of course, this sweetness wasn’t complete without edging the felt for the needles with my scallop edge scissors.

I wanted this little needle book to be secure so I decided a Kam snap closure would be the perfect finish. Quick and easy to install and they come in a range of pretty colours and shapes to choose from. Of course, you can still make these little needlebooks without Kam snap closures if you don’t have any. Or you could also try something else similar.

The best part about this pattern, is that they are so quick and easy to whip up and can be done in less than 30 minutes. Great for those who are time poor and want a quick and satisfying make. Or as a quick last minute extra for your sewing swaps.
They are pretty addictive too, and I bet you find it hard to stop at just one.

If you want to make an Itty Bitty Needlebook too, head on over to Etsy. It’s a digital PDF pattern so you can download it immediately and start sewing right away!
