Every year we have Christmas in July (June this year, since im expecting my second baby soon) with my husband’s family, so it’s the perfect opportunity to make sweet handmade gifts especially for the little ones. Usually there’s a new addition to the family so I find myself making quilts and other handmade goodies for the little ones.

I was a bit slack this year and only managed to make two quilt as you go baby bibs, for the newest nephew, Jackson. I had lots of fun making these out of left-over scraps that probably wouldn’t have been used for anything else. I’m really loving the quilt as you go method lately. It’s such a fun way to use up odd off cuts of fabric and a simple project that’s easy to pick up and put down any time. I can see lots of Quilted baby bibs in the near future.

Sometimes I find children hard to gift for because I don’t want to give them just another toy that goes in the collection. So, this year I made toiletry bags for the two nieces, Elana & Alice, filled with sweet things I know little girls will love.

I got together a collection of sweet things like strawberry shower caps, watermelon (not pictured) and rainbow bath bombs, fruity hair clips and pretty pastel coloured scrunchies.

I also added a cute zipper pull made from pastel-coloured beads and leather lacing. I love the little something extra and fun a zipper pull adds to a pouch.

And finally, here’s a sneak peak of a quilt I have been working on for my little one. Hopefully I can share the finished quilt with you soon.

Until next time. Happy sewing, Kellie. X
